You know you’re a bit weird when…

You get more excited about food shopping at a natural food store than about shopping for clothes.

Yeah, that’s what happened yesterday.
In my defence: I have been wanting to visit that food store for ages now and when I’m studying 24/7 every excuse to get out of the house will become an exciting road trip.

So here are the new goodies:

Millet, I’ve never had this before

Another thing I’ve never tried before: almond butter!
And jelly with absolutely no added sugar, it’s made with agave and the natural sugar from the fruit.┬á

And the thing I am most excited about: yogi tea!
I had a hard time picking a flavour but I decided to go with the ginseng one cause I remember enjoying that at my yoga studio.

Afterwards we also went to a ‘normal’ food store, but one we only go to once in a couple of months so I had to stock up on all the things you can’t find around here:

Some treats: natural liquorice and Lindt 85% chocolate.
The ingredient list of both is just amazing, the liquorice only contains 4 ingredients ( melasse, wheatflour, liquorice extract and natural aniseed oil), the chocolate only contains 6 ingredients ( cocoa paste, cocoa, cocoa butter, brown sugar and a natural Bourbon vanilla-pod).

And did I mention that that chocolate is delicious!!

Food shopping spree with a happy ending indeed čśë

Shopping Spree

Every girl needs a good shopping trip to get her mind off of things and re-energize from time to time!

Today I went shopping with the mom and the sis, here’s my loot:

1 pair of jeans and a blue dress (Mango), 3 sweaters (Springfield), socks and tights (H&M) and a new purse since the old one got mutilated in Rome (Only).

Close up of the shirts. I love these kind of shirts: it’s not really a shirt, but not really a sweater either, long-sleeved,super soft and comfortable.

Another bonus today: shopping lunch and coffee.

Veggie sandwich with carrots, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red beets and spice cheese with a salad on the side. And a cappuccino in the background.
I’m having trouble staying away from cappuccino, even though it’s not nearly as good in Belgium as it was in Italy.. well, I only had 2 today so I guess you can call that improvement.

Kitchen Sink Salads and new Reads

Somehow the salads made out of all the leftovers lying around in (and around) the fridge always turn out to be the best ones.

Somehow it also seems you can’t remember what exactly went in them when you want to try to make them next time, there always seems one thing or another missing…

that’s why today’s kitchen sink salad got documented for future use:┬áLamb’s lettuce, cherry tomatoes, carrots, some leftover tuna, some mashed mango, vitality mix.

Quinoa on the side

Enough about salads now, let’s talk about something serious čśë┬áthe sis and I went shopping today and she bought a super cute winter coat.

The best moment of the day was (of course) our visit to the book shop.
I couldn’t make a choice between two books and eventually the sis helped me out: she had her eyes on those two books too, so we decided to each by one and swap, so we could read both.

The sis got ‘The┬áParticular┬áSadness of Lemon Cake’

I went with ‘When God was a Rabbit’
(I would have bought it just for the cover, so cute)

Another highlight today: we went for some coffee at ‘ Nosh’, and I ate a bagel for the first time in my life, a peanut butter – banana bagel… ┬áit was pure bliss on a (cute) plate.
Next time I’m in for a breakfast treat, I know where to go.
