The cookie monster would be my little niece, Charlotte.
(aka the birthday brunch girl)
Smiling and munching on cookies
I looked after her at my grandparents’ house today. We watched tons of cartoons, made a beautiful drawing and she munched on some cookies while I ate a tangerine.
The chocolate breakfast monster, that would be me 😉
and I’m foreseeing some of you to become a chocolate breakfast monster soon too, because this breakfast is really too good to miss out on:
‘Chocolate Chip Baked Oats’
with banana brulé
- half a banana and a dozen of banana slices for the topping
- half a cup of soy milk
- a cup of oats
- 1t of baking powder
- small piece of dark chocolate (I used 74%), chopped
- a dash of sea salt
- optional: handful of nuts chopped in for a bit of extra crunch
- a drizzle of honey
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390 F).
In one bowl combine all the dry ingredients, in another mash the banana and add your milk to it. Stir the 2 mixtures together.
Grease a ramekin or a oven proof bowl (please, please, oil it in, you will have more of your mixture sticking to the pot than melting in your mouth if you do not!).
Place your ramekin in the oven for about 18 minutes. After the 18 minutes put on the banana slices and drizzle some honey over the bananas, place ramekin back for another 8 to 10 minutes with the grill on.
If you’re planning on making this without the bananas on top just let your mixture bake for about 20 minutes.

Are you planning to be a cookie or a chocolate monster today?! 😉
